Hello Martin,

As I read about your adventures, I remember the two or so trips we made from SF to Guatemala in the 1970s, early 80,. so remember you have experience sitting in the back seat of a VW Rabbit, for over 4K miles over the wonderful Mexican autobahns.
I remember Oaxaca, was one of the nicest stops along the way, also VeraCruz and Tapaschula on the Guatemalan border.
anyway, enjoy your trip and watch out for the mexican cops.
Love
