Day 4 arrival in Morelia
Today was a fast day. Fast in that the very first stage had all Zeros and Ones. Technically, I shouldn’t have had to touch the brakes or lift off full throttle for 6.5km but I’m a big wuss. I braked once and lifted several times but we still had a great time and are running up front.
After a great Service stop where Eric, Flo and Brian checked things out and gave me some new, used brake pads, we were on our way to Mil Cumbres. Translated that means, a thousand hills and its aptly named. This part of Mexico is like being somewhere in the Black forest of Germany but with darker people. Lush green fields and wooded hills and of course, amazing twisty roads. Roads that favor a little car that handles like a go cart. There were to be three stages in Mil Cumbres but rain forced a cancelation of the last and longest one. Tomorrow we’ll go back up and try again. I’ll post results later tonight. In the meantime here are a few quick pix from today. Kids swarming the car for postcards, El Taxi and me hamming it up with some locals. Cheers!
